A Walk down the Memory
Lane with Mr Milton Banana
Part I
"The Power of destiny who brought two RUSH fans to meet in peculiar circumstances"
"Fortune is random
destiny is shot from the hip"
It was just another catastrophic day when my wife´s sister said she
was gonna bring her new boyfriend to visit us.... Uqqq i thought..... just
another day when I have to be nice, social and pretend to be interested in
things I´m not really interested in...He is probably a nice ordinary
guy trying to impress me and my wife.
I had my worst expectations...
"I can't pretend a stranger
Is a long-awaited friend"
My wife’s sister and her new boyfriend came (he had long hair reminding
me a little bit of "hair") after the social preplay and all the
phrases he started looking at my cd collection... I thought Boy this is gonna
be another great day NOT.....
"Today is different and tomorrow the same"
.......................................
This adventure started of quite exciting...."the long haired guy"
soon found out I had quite a few RUSH cd´s.
He started an discussion about RUSH and this evening took an turn, impressed
i thought to myself have she found a RUSH fan?
.....................................................................
We ended up with a six pack of beer
(also something we found out that we got in common)
in the kitchen, the portable cd playing RUSH the whole evening and the beginning
of the BEST friendship (If you ask me) in my life....
"Driven on,

This was the first time Mr Milton Banana met Stan Getz...
Part II
"In common"
During the years we have found out that we have a couple of thing in comon.
- The fellowship of the Clan
I´m married toC1 and Stan is married to her sister C2
That gives us an connection beyond ordinary friendship.
You can choose your friends while you´re stuck with your family for
god or bad.
The friendship with Stan combines these two out of a good perspective.
- Beer
On occasions we take a beer or two
- IQ
Fooled by the first impression of Stan´s look ;^)
I have learned over the Years that he´s a bright guy even thought he
hides it behind his funny lines.
- Humour
Stan is the funniest guy I ever met. I´m not!
- RUSH
The second fellowship
Part III
"Fishing with Stan"
Even thought Stan is a bright guy he´s not very practical except on
practical jokes!
One of my missions are to teach Stan a couple of things.
- Fishing
I managed to get Stan out in the wilderness
(It´s amazing what a six pack of beer can do)
a couple of times.
If we´re lucky he might catch a fish someday.
- Skiing
Having a hard and funny time teaching Stan downhill skiing.
We have passed the first lesson, Don´t eat the yellow snow.
Even though Stan had some minor problems with the first lesson I have to pass
him on that lesson.
Stan often says. I learn from Mr Milton Banana ;^)
Part IV
"Live In My Dining Room"
Or the time when Mr Milton Banana giving a foolish promise.
When you guys released Rush in Rio me and Stan hanged up a screen in my living
room, rented a video screen camera, and saw the whole DVD in BIG SCREEN without
moving (or even having a pee)
What an experience....
"When the Angles are right..."
At that moment i promised Stan that if RUSH ever will play in Europe again,
we will be there and RUSH´s gonna play Earthshine (his favourite from
VT) I will carry him on my shoulders..
Please
I´m a small guy....
I wouldn´t be able to carry Stan on my small shoulders.
He´s big, fat and smells like shit ;^)
Please don´t play Eartshine....
Conclusion Stan is my best friend.
I really enjoy the conversations and adventures we torment each other with.
The next upcoming big adventure we will explicit together takes place the
11th and 12th of September in Birmingham and Manchester ;^)
